Student visa for Italy

Student visa is not necessary for students coming from member states of the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland, while students from third countries need student visa if they plan to study longer than 3 months. All international students must apply for residence permit upon arrival to Italy.

Conditions for student visa

• Student must be enrolled in accredited educational institution
• To have adequate level of education for the enrolled program
• Student must have sufficient language skills
• To be financially capable to cover all costs of studying and staying in Italy
• Student needs to have organized accommodation for the period of studies
• To have adequate health insurance
• To prove that they have never been convicted before nor refused for any Italian visa
