Student visa for Austria

Students coming from European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland need to register their stay, they don’t need student visa nor residence permit. Students coming from third countries who wish to study longer than 3 months in Austria need to get national visa as well as residence permit.

Conditions for student visa

• To be enrolled in accredited education institution in Austria
• To be able to cover all costs of studying and staying in Austria
• To have adequate health insurance for the duration of studies
• To have organized accommodation for the duration of studies
• To prove that you are person of a good character and that you have never been convicted
